Hana Hou Spotlight: Dane Ngahuka
Dane Ngahuka was born in the city of Tauranga in New Zealand and grew up in Heretaunga New Zealand. His tribes are Ngatiranginui and Ngatikahungunu. Dane's family decends from Tamatea Arikinui the captain of the waka (canoe) Takitimu. The chief canoe that lead the migration of people to Aotearoa (New Zealand) over 1,000 years ago.
Dane is the founder and head coach of the Las Vegas Maori Rugby Club. Like many Polynesian's he has played rugby nearly all his life.
Polynesian's love their music, Dane is no different. In fact he is the founder and lead band member of the Las Vegas based "Dane and The Whale Riders." The Polynesian, island & contemporary music band can be found playing gigs all over the Las Vegas Valley.
